Welcome to the home of 'Physics for Idiots' a place where you can find lots of physics-y goodness broken down into stuff that actually makes sense. We're not saying you are an idiot, we're just saying that even if you were, you'd get this. There are lots of lovely sections for you to browse so get to it, it won't bite!
If you're a bit confused about a particular aspect of Physics and you can't find the answers on the site, please feel free to email us. We each have our own e-mail address, but usually the best people to contact are Laura (who checks her emails very regularly and can forwards any queries on) or The Rev. Alternatively you can use the email form on the Contact Us page. There is of course the third option of heading over to the The Forum and pitching your question there. See, don't say we don't give you options!
One or two areas of the site are still in a state of construction. We're updating on a daily basis though, so keep checking back!

- 19th August 2008 - You may have notice little buttons appearing at the bottom of pages. This is because we've been hard at work validating the site this week in order to give you the best possible experience whilst using the site. "Why are you telling us this?" I hear you ask. Well mainly because I don't want you to think we've not been doing anything! Also we'd like to invite you to tell us what you think about the site: what you like, what you don't like. Please feel free to email Laura or The Rev with any feedback. As always we'd love to hear from you!

- 26th July 2008 - Physicsforidiots.com!!!! That's right folks, you can now find us at http://www.physicsforidiots.com. In addition to that we have the Forum up and running (I won't go into details, but that was one of the trickiest things we've had to do on the site for a long time!) head over to it to get registered (it's free to register, you just need a user name to be able to make posts). Anyway as the transition continues, you may notice some slight changes. Hopefully the usibilty of the site will not be impared too much, but obviously as we update, there may be some times when things aren't working properly. If you find this to be the case, you can hop on over to http://www.physicsforidiots.co.uk that will still be functioning independantly until such time as we're completely stable here.
- 26th July 2008 - We have a Forum! You can now head over to The Physics For Idiots Forum to discuss anything from particle interactions to the latest films
- 25th July 2008 - We now have nice new e-mails if you want to contact us or the site, they can be found here
- 19th July 2008 - We've launched the Article of the Week competition! To launch our newest section, ready for Back to School, we're asking you to write our first featured article. It can be about absolutely any aspect of Physics, no matter how obscure (although please keep it clean, we don't want to get sued!) To find out the rules click here
- 14th July 2008 - Nothing had been written in the News section for a while, so Laura thought she'd let you know what we've been up to. Which is nothing major. The stressful hard work of making the side bar not just disapear and work properly in all web browsers continued well into July, but seems to be fixed now. However if anyone notices any different please e-mail us and we'll try to fix the problem. Other than that, there have been several updates on the Electricity and Magnetism and Dynamics pages and more to come.
- 26th June 2008 - The site has been revamped and refunrnished with a shiny new toolbar. After much stressful hard work a side bar for individual page navigation has also been added.
- 20th June 2008 - The site has moved... well sort of, you can now access it via www.physicsforidiots.co.uk much easier isn't it!
- 17th June 2008 - In the interest of research Laura nabbed her brother's AS Physics revision guide (sorry if you're looking for that mate) and had a quick flick through what's required. As a result of this, she decided that a Thermodynamics section was probably a good idea. She also decided to have a quick look on Facebook to see if there were any groups asking for help with Physics. If you're here as a result of that: Welcome! If you're not: Welcome!
- 16th June 2008 - Search function added. Can't find something and can't be especially bothered to look, then try out our new search bar.
- 13th June 2008 - The "lets do this!" attitude remains amongst us and the editing continues! Also, it became apparent to Laura that Josh had not actually contributed at all yet to the site, despite it being his idea. She, The Rev and Michael had done all the work so far! She decided to send him an e-mail with words to that effect.
- 11th June 2008 - After having had a rather long discussion via instant messenger about what they were going to do, because they were bored The Rev, Michael and Laura ended up having an editing session from their respective locations.
- 27th May 2008 - Work first began on this version of Physics for Idiots as a result of a horrible Mathematical Physics exam going "not so bad", a bored physics student having finished the book they were reading and the ridiculous price of a TV licence. In lieu of anything else to do, Physics for Idiots was born!
One or two things are probably worth a mention. Any word which is underlined is probably a key point. Most of them are set up so that if you hold your cursor over them, a description comes up. So if you hold your mouse over this sentence for example. If you are using Firefox, you might have problems seeing the whole message. I know this was a problem on 2.0, not sure if they've fixed it on 3.0, anyway, if this is an issue, worry not, there is an add-on to allow you to read them. Click here to get it fixed. There's probably lots of other confusing things and weird quirks, if anything is really confusing anyone, send us an e-mail
